Here are some of the highlights from the event…

Katy Perry rocked a blue dress and blue hair on the red carpet

The singer also took the time to meet some of her fans - don't you love the sunflowers?

Later she performed ET, as well as her latest single Part Of Me, which is rumoured to be have been directed to her ex Russell Brand. The lyrics include, “Now look at me, I’m sparking, A firework, a dancing flame, You won’t ever put me out again... So you can keep the diamond ring." Ouch!

Taylor Swift picked up to Grammys, adding to her already huge collection with the awards for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for Mean

Taylor performed her Grammy award-winning track, Mean, on an elaborate set

The most emotional performance of the night was Jennifer Hudson's tribute to Whitney Houston, who died on Sunday. Whitney actually presented Jennifer with her first-ever Grammy, and the singer was chosen to perform Whitney's most famous single, I Will Always Love You, for the ceremony.

But the winner on the night was Adele, who picked up six Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year, for her album 21. She also performed Rolling In The Deep, her first performance in months after she had to undergo throat surgery. But rest assured, that voice is still as glorious as ever!
